GCAAS is collaborating to arrange two (possible) events in the upcoming year.

Our graduate student members are organizing a graduate student conference for the 2005-06 academic year.

We are also exploring two possibilities to bring artists/speakers to present at several of our campuses and in the area — a greater Chicago-area "“tour,” if you will. We looking into arranging Chicago-area screenings of the forthcoming feature film adaptation of Shawn Wong’s novel, American Knees, with presentations/discussions by the novelist and the film’s director, Eric Byler — who also directed Charlotte Sometimes. Alternatively, we are also looking into bringing Maya Lin to speak in the Chicago area.
